In contrast, placing the filter dryer in other locations may not serve its intended purpose as effectively. For example, if installed between the evaporator and compressor, it would not protect the metering device or remove moisture from the liquid refrigerant before it is expanded. Similarly, positioning it at the evaporator inlet does not allow it to fulfill its function of conditioning the refrigerant when it is in a liquid state.
